The Message of Christmas
With
today being December 22, 2012, this year has seen yet another failed human
prophesy. Since the ancient Mayan Calendar ended December 21, 2012, many
believed the world would end on that day. In 2009, capitalizing on escalating concern,
Hollywood created a judgment day drama aptly titled, “2012”. According to one
website, the Mayan calendar had a 5,125-year cycle, divided into 144,000-day
cycles, ending yesterday, hence the apocalypse scare.
However,
when you read the writings of those who follow the ancient Mayan elders or the
current Mayan shamans, they believe instead of apocalypse, December 21, 2012,
ushered in a new age of spiritual enlightenment. This global shift in
consciousness and self-realization for humanity supposedly unleashed the snake
or feathered serpent deity, Kukulkan, also known as the spirit of the feminine
or Mother Kundalini. New Agers believe this “kundalini” or serpent power lies dormant
at the base of the human spine, until it is awakened. Transcendental meditation,
yoga, mysticism, and a myriad of other occult practices are designed to awaken
kundalini and “spiritually transform
[one] into a full and completely evolved human being.”
I
think it very interesting and rather telling, that this so-called deity is a
serpent. I am positive he is the very same serpent who was “in Eden, the Garden
of God.” Ezekiel 28 calls him the anointed and covering cherub, who walked in
the midst of the fiery stones from the day he was created, until iniquity was
found in him. Because of his sin and pride, God cast him out of His holy
mountain as a profane thing and Jesus, God the Son, saw him fall like
lightening from heaven. This serpent deceived Eve into thinking she could be
like God. Consequently, Adam disobeyed God’s command bringing sin into the
world. In that setting, God spoke a prophecy pronouncing this serpent’s
doom: The Seed of woman, Jesus Christ
our Lord, would crush his head. It would be a four-thousand year wait for
humans, but as only four days to Almighty God. Therefore, in the fullness of
time, in Bethlehem, the City of David, this Savior, Who is Christ the Lord was
born of a woman. Jesus, Immanuel, God in the flesh, came to destroy the works
of “that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan.” (Gal. 4:4-5; I John 3:8;
Rev. 12:9)
When
did this destruction take place? Kept secret from the foundation of the world,
it commenced the day Jesus was born and culminated on the cross. Colossians
2:14-15 says, Jesus “wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against
us…having nailed it to the cross.” On that cross, Jesus loosed Himself and us,
from the power of this serpent and his spiritual rulers and authorities who
held humanity captive. Jesus disarmed them, making a “public spectacle of them,
triumphing over them in it” [the cross], by shedding His blood, dying for us, resurrecting
and conquering death.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This is The Message of Christmas. “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men…Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.” (John 3:16; Titus 2:11; Jeremiah 17:7)
Satan's time is ending and he knows it. Jesus is our Blessed Hope. Therefore, remember, sinful humanity's words and prophesies will fade like the flowers. They will wither as the grass, for only the word of our God, stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8)
Have a Blessed Christmas!
