THREE DAYS OF PRAYER FOR AMERICA’S 2022 MIDTERM ELECTIONS:

Day Two, Monday, November 7, 2022

We cry out, O LORD, with our voice, and with our voice, we make supplication. We pour out our complaint before You and declare to You our trouble.


Since the election of November 3, 2020, our spirits have been overwhelmed within us, but even then, You knew our path.


On that day, evildoers secretly set a snare on our right hand. Any refuge failed us, no one acknowledged our complaints, and no one cared for our souls.


Therefore, we cried out to You, O LORD, and said, “You are our REFUGE and our portion in the land of the living.”


Attend now, O LORD, to our cry since we feel very low and imprisoned in our supposedly “free” country. Bring our soul and nation out of prison, O LORD our God, that we may praise Your Name.[1] Deliver us from our persecutors, the perpetrators of this evil, for they appear strong and weaponized against us. Yet we know, You, LORD, are the strength of our lives. Of whom shall we be afraid?


Therefore, LORD, we who love and honor You ask You to thwart the voting machine algorithms on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. And do not allow the evildoers to steal this election as they did in 2020. And then, Most High God, go forward in Your mighty power and right the wrongs of the past 21 months and 19 days.


Almighty God, we surrender our lives to Your righteous right hand and trust You to work all this out for our good. In the name of Jesus, our Rock, our Redeemer, and our Good Shepherd, we pray, Amen.

Whatever Happened to Live and Let Live?

         I’ve always loved the movie The Hiding Place —Hollywood’s version of the life of Christian author and speaker Corrie Ten Boom and her family. The Ten Boom’s were arrested for hiding and helping Jews during the German occupation of Holland in World War II. Betrayed by Hollanders who prided themselves in obeying German law, the Ten Boom family spent several years in concentration camps. God graciously rescued Corrie, but most of her family died there.         More recently, I found another movie, The Zookeeper’s Wife , a true account of Antonina and Jan Zabinski, who also hid Jews when the Germans occupied Poland. Yad Vashem in Israel aptly recognized them with the “Righteous Among The Nations” honor.          I love Israel. [2]   A fresh-cut branch or green wood is new—at the beginning of the seasoning or drying process.
