Contend For The Faith - Part One

"Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."[1]

The craziness in our world keeps getting weirder—diligently seeking to erode our faith.

How so, you might ask? This past week, Congress held hearings where a so-called UFO whistle-blower testified. Were you disturbed? Intrigued? Or indifferent, not caring one way or another about what this man had to say? From what I heard in his testimony, he didn't say much. And I'm not surprised. I think it's deception—a smoke screen and a diversion from our nation's real problems—this totally corrupt, criminal, treasonous regime now in power and our seeming inability to remove them.

Still, in the wake of this man's testimony, I'd like to address some of the concerns he may have raised in your minds. But first, hear the words of Jesus speaking of these last days, "Take heed that no one deceives you."[2]

Deception is Satan's game. So, ask questions. Why now is someone coming forward? Why not then, when the alleged spacecraft containing alien beings, or "non-human biologics," as the whistle-blower testified, crash-landed? Timing is everything, you know.

After the hearing, I heard a commentator state some of the reasons the government withheld this "evidence of aliens." He said it would have caused hysteria and damaged the Christian faith.

Has your faith been damaged?

Is it possible to merge aliens from outer space with the God of our Bible? Or are these diametrically opposed to one another? I believe the latter.

Many of you know I was raised in the church, yet as a kid, I was very much into alien visitations, spaceships, etc. I believed it all and watched the heavens to see if I could spot a UFO, saying to the night sky, "Come see me. I'll accept you." But nothing ever happened. Looking back, I believe God Almighty, through His Holy Spirit, protected me from this deception.

Still, as a young adult, I found the book, Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Däniken, and I devoured it. The book's premise—all "gods" of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc., were alien visitations, and Adam and Eve were monkeys, the aliens engineered to evolve into today's humans. This book gave me a plausible explanation for everything I believed about aliens, evolution, and what I thought I learned in church.

Ten years later, I met Jesus Christ personally through His Holy Word, and my life changed forever. Yet, as a newborn Christian, thoughts of aliens and spaceships plagued me when I read certain Scripture passages. At times, I would have to stop and shout, "I will to do God's will," and this calmed me. And now I know why. I had believed Satan's lies most of my life, and he didn't want to let go.

I prayed each time thoughts would enter, and finally, while I was driving, God's Spirit spoke to my heart. I parked my car and wrote His teaching in my Bible. "About Space and Aliens, Nov. 7, 1986. Why is it that Earth is the only planet in the galaxy that has living creatures or humans? It is because that's the way God wanted it. Nothing just happened by chance. God spoke, and it was so! There are no other intelligent life forms because we were created in God's own image. So, the theory of aliens and flying saucers goes completely along with the theory of evolution, which is pure nonsense."

Maybe this doesn't answer your questions, but it settled me. I still struggle sometimes as I read the Word, but now I know from whom those thoughts come. I repent of my part and rebuke the enemy in Jesus' name.

So please, as this present age comes to a close, do not allow Satan's signs and lying wonders to deceive you.[3] But resist him by drawing near to God—contending earnestly for the faith once—for all—delivered to the saints.[4]
